FYI,
Paul Troop who is one of our Historians went to Washington DC looking for more information concerning him. He was very amazed to find apporximately 800 pages of historical documents about the 15th Med Bn dating from 1965 to 1969. He send me an email request $200.00 to get copies of these documents. Well, I could not get a hold of our Treasurer Bob Mc Kinley. He was out of town.
Paul Troop brought up this subject at our annual Reunion Meeting. It was put up to vote about giving Paul the necessary funds to sponser another trip to Washington DC to get copies of these important Documents. The vote was okayed. Then the Pilots/Officers said they would contribute $800.00 to fund the trip. COL Bill Downey said he would accompany Paul Troop at his own expense. Other members of the Assocaition requested to be able to make donation also. Thus we had great generousity from out membership especially the Officers.
I don't know how much was collected and when COL Bill Downey and Paul Troop plan to go to DC. I do know that I will be posting these documents on our Website. Now anything with SSNs will not be posted due to possible idenity thief.
Paul Troop said said that all the 15th Med Bn Morning Reports and Roster Lists are in Saint Louis. Elected President John Crespi said he would accompany Paul there because he lives so close.
Thanks go to the Officers and members for contributing to a worthy cause. Special Thanks to Paul Troop and COL Bill Downey for willing to take the time out of their lives to get copies of these documents.

FYI,
COL Downey and Paul Troop left Monday 5/13/08 for Washington DC. They plan to get what they can in Documents of the 15th Med Bn in Vietnam. 800 plus documents will be a lot to scan into .jpg files to post on the Main Website. This find will be one of the greatest we have had. I don't know what is in all these document but we will all soon know when I begin to post them.

FYI,
Out Historians COL Bill Downey and Paul Troop went to Washington DC on May 13, 2008. Their trip was very successful getting the Documents that was there. I spoke with COL about 2 weeks ago and he explained the process just to get the privilege to enter the archives. You can not take any papers, pen or pencils. The archives provides all that. Each Document must be copied, declassified and stamped before it is removed from the archives. Well, their week long time spent there was greatly appreciated because they had retrived 920 documents.
These documents were first in the hands of COL Bill Downey who made copies of them and they were sent to Paul Troop. I called Paul Troop and he said he got the documents. Now, these document are all of legel length (8 1/2 x 14). He is cutting the down buy removing the additional amount of paper added to remove them from the archives. When he is finished he will call me and I will meet him halfway between Clevleand and the Youngstown/Warren area. It will be about 35 miles driving for each of us.
Once I get these Documents I will divide them up by year possibly quarter and then month. I will scan everyone of them into my computer. One I have enough for 1 year I will start posting them on the internet. The big question that I was discussing with Paul is should I make the area password protected if possible with HTML or let them be able to be viewed by anyone.
Well, I will keep posting updates.

FYI,
I responded to a phone call from Paul Troop today. He informed me that due to family issues he had to abort his trip to Washington DC. He plans to do the trip the 1st of Sept. I will post as things happen about our Documents.
