Hello 15th Med. I am so sorry that Barbara is having these recurring trips to the hospital- pneumonia, fluid around the heart, and Lord knows what else. I know that John must be operating on autopilot since he's been bound to be dogged out from all these trips to the hospital, not to mention the emotional stress of dealing with Barbara's ailments, which just seem to multiply. Know that our hearts, minds, and prayers for her recovery, from us here in Biloxi, are continuing and will continue, until she is safely home- God Bless both of them. Old Crewchief, Randy Brewer

FYI,
I got a phone call last night from John Crespi. He had to take his wife back into the hospital again. She started throw up a lot and would not stop. At emergency they did 2 EKGs. It appeared that she has pneumona and water around the heart. They admitted back in. It has been 65 days since she had the Heart Operation and she have trouble with it. John will keep me posted of her condition. We need to pray a lot for Barbara.

Hello Gentlemen,
My name is Roque Torres from Concord, California. A nice lady recently handed a group of items (uniform items, papers, gear etc). The man passed away and had no children so she saved them from the dump and gave them to me. I am an amateur historian and military enthusiast with an eye toward preservation.
The 1st Cav Division Veteran's name is Thomas Faria. He served with the 15th Med Detachment from December 1967 to December 1968. He was your lab tech but also treated many wounded, civilians, and enemies alike. I have an excellent picture of his time in Vietnam thanks to a daily diary he kept from January 1st 1968 until his arrival home in December 1968.
I have downloaded many of the documents from your website and will now begin corrolating the missions, reports, casualties, to match his diary. He kept nice daily records of his movements, places, times as well as the names of many of you and your 15th Med cohorts. There are many anecdotes, complaints, happy stories, sad ones, tragic ones, and more. I am honored, humbled, happy and sad all at once to have read his combat experience and have committed myself to honor him in the best way I can.
I will glean some names and perhaps you can point me to those survivors that knew him.
Roque Torres

FYI,
Last week John Crespi's wife was taken back to the hospital. She had to have her gull bladder removed, because she have problems keeping food down. She stayed in the hospital a few days after the operation because the doctors wanted to make sure she had no more problems.
I called John last Monday 19 July, 2010 on the very day she came home. We talked for a little while and he told me it now everything appears to be a lot better. Barbara, John's wife will now be on a good recovery from the main operation and all the problems afterwards. I know John's family will be in my prayers for a speedy recovery as they move forward from a trouble period.

FYI,
I got this email from Randy Brewer who was out 2008 Reunion Coordinator. Sent June 21, 2010:
Murray, since I didn't serve with John, I don't really know him except for the 2008 reunion. I've been keeping up with the latest on his wife, Barbara. Back to hospital w/ possible pneumonia. I really hope it's not that serious. I had pneumonia in May 2008, and it darn near did what the NVA & VC could not do. I put her on the Prayer List at church on Sunday and we here in Biloxi, are praying for a full recovery. Just to let John know we haven't forgotten him and the ordeal he is facing. Randy Brewer
