July 2011 Newsletter
Greetings 15th Med Members,

The 2011 Reunion that was held at Branson, MO was a very memoriable to attend.  We
had a lot of members attend and some for the first time.   We regret that Bobby Brooks and
his wife could not attend due to Bobby be hospitalized just prior to the 2011 Reunion.  He is
doing fine now and hopefully can attend the 2012 Reunion that will be held at Nashville, TN.

We did have different activities to enjoy while there.  One of them was across from the
Lodge at the Caravelle.  The show was the "Hits of the 60's."  Most of the members went
there while the wives went to one of the Branson Malls.

We had a great Memorial Service Saturday Morning for all those of the 15th Med BN who
made the greatest sacrifice in Vietnam.  We started the service with a guy playing the Bag
Pipes.  He walk in and the stopped in front of the Color Guard.  He continued to play for a
good while.  The names of those lost were called out at the Memorial Service by Jim Calibro
and Fred Mc Kellar.  It was very memorial to be there.   Would you believe a helicopter flew
over us as it started.  Here are some of the pictures of the Service and our 15th Med Bn
Flag that John Crespi was able to get.

We had our annual meeting after the Memorial Service.  We dicussed old business and
new business.  We then elected and appointed the next year's 15th Med Association's

The dates of the 2012 Reunion are:  April 25 (Wed) - 29 (Sun), 2012.  Once I get all the info
on the 2012 Reunion I will post the 2012 Registration Form on the website and send it out
by email also.

Last year John Brennan of the Vietnam Helicotper Crew Member Association sent me
this email a while back.  I forgot all about it until a few days ago and should have forwarded
it out the members.  My apology.  His email below:

The long awaited publication, "U.S. Army Helicopter Names In Vietnam" has finally arrived.
For information or to Order go to www.hellgatepress.com. I'll also be signing books ($28) at
the VHCMA St. Louis reunion June 16-19. Weighs in at 2 pounds, measures 8.5x10,
contains 408 pages, and 40 photographs. Enjoy, John Brennan

Below is the attachment of the above email:

We have several of our helicopters that had names were give to John Brennan.  They
should be in the book.

The website Forums -  I just recently changed the method to register on the Forums.
The reason is that the new updates make it very difficult for those who want to post items we
don't want.  Every individual can register on the Forums without going thru me the
Webmaster.  I have lifted the restriction and have allowed immediate registration.  If you can
not type those weird letters or numbers in them you can not register.  Thus it makes it harder
or more difficult for those unwanted individuals to post their garbage.  I will still have to
monitor it randomly to ensure there is no garbage.  So, if any of you want to register and
post any messages on the Forums please do so.  The Forums are not so public like
FACEBOOK.   15th Med Members can post on a board that only 15th Med Members can
read.  I also have a like board for the Lady's Auxilary Group where only they can view what
they post.  Thus Members have their private Board and the Ladies have their private board.
If you have any question please email me.

Our President has expressed an interest making posts on the future Newsletters.  It will
be called the President's Corner and likewise if any of the other Officers want to make a
post.  All they need to do is send me an email regarding something they want to post on any
of the future Newsletters.

This conclude this Newsletter.  Hope you all find it informational.
