2009 June Newsletter
Greeting 15th Med Members

FYI,  I had my internet service down for 12 days.  Time Warner did a blackout on Monday
5/18/09 to do maintenance & updates.  Well, for some reason it knock out my service of
phone, tv and interent.  They had to replace some parts and last Friday May 29, 09 I got my
service back.  I had a lot of email when I accessed my email that evening.  I also had a
message on my phone answering machine.  It was not good news.  It concerned on of our 15th
Med Members Dillard Roscoe Carter.  The email below I got Jim Fergerson about Dillard and
then I had a phone call conversation with him.

Murray,

Hi this is Jim Ferguson. Dillard Roscoe Carter, Carter is his last name, was an original member
of 15th Med. Assoc.  He attended the first 2 reunions, the 1st in Virginia at Sherman Breedan's
home(and became a charter member) as well as the second in Las Vegas with Sherman and
myself. He was in your database at one time.

He expired May 14 or 15,while on vacation in the Phillipines with his wife and young daughter.
As I am sure you are aware, getting his body back to the States took time. His family is
planning a private service on Monday June 1, 2009 @ 4:00 P.M. for just the family, I have
been asked to attend and I will comply. Services are to be Tuesday, June 2, 2009 @ 9:00 and
info follows:

A mass to follow and the journey to the cemetary.

better explain what i have tried to.

Last month I also got an email from Sherie, Cliff Davis' wife.  Cliff and his wife was at the
2009 Reunion in Myrtle Beach, SC.  This is the email I got from his wife on May 12, 2009:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cliff developed a fever of 100.7 last night ane they gave him some tylenol to try and get it
down.  At 6:00 this morning it was up to 101.2.  It may be because of some more infection.  I
am hoping to hear from the doctors sometime this morning.
Sherie

Just a quick note to Cliff got  out on Friday, but went back to the ER on Saturday.  He is in
critical condition.  He got some kind of fluid in his lungs.  The X-ray on Thursday night
showed only a little bit of stuff in there probably from the pneumonia.. It was definitely better
then when he was admitted last week.   Saturday I took him in he and he could hardly breath
or stay awake.  They immediately put him on full force oxygen and did tests.  His blood
pressure kept dropping when they tried to lower the amount of oxygen.  So he was admitted
to the ICU. He is on a ventilator/respirator and every time they try to taper him down on the
oxygen, his blood pressure goes way down.  He has something in his lungs, but it doesn’t
look like cancer, and had to do a bronchoscope on Sat night.  He wasn’t hemorrhaging but
they tried to get it out of his lungs.  It was sent to the lab and pathology on Saturday night..
They said it would probably take 48 hrs to get the results.  They said he’d be in there for a
while.

Hi guys, just wanted to give you an update. I have been here in Balad, Iraq as
the Aviation Safety Officer since last September and look to be heading back to
Oregon sometime Mid July. The last several years I have either been deployed or
at some school when the re-unions were happening. The one time it was held in my
neck of the woods, my father was dying and I went to be with him.

Our MEDEVAC unit is coming this month and I will fly with them for a couple of
months; Vietnam, Bosnia, Afghanistan and now Iraq- a long and satisfying career
of MEDEVAC. I intend to make the next reunion and look forward to seeing all of
you again.  I included and updated photo to show you guys an old aviatior.

Barry looks great and in good condition.  We look forward to seeing Barry at the next
Reunion in Boise, ID.

2010 Reunion will be in Boise, ID.  I have posted most of the information about it.  I have an
update on the 2010 Reunion that I will be posting very shortly.   You can view the Reunion
information by clicking the button "Current Reunion Info."   I have gotten a lot of feed back
about many members plan to attend this Reunion.  I thank our Reunion Coordinator Mike
"Smitty" Smith for doing a quick and effiecent job setting it up.  While i had my internet service I
worked on some other things concerning the 15th Med Association.

David Huser will be assisting me with our Website once he is fully setup to do so.  So far he
has most of the programs he will need.  I have sent him all the files I have on the website so he
can understand what I have done and work off of them to work on the website as needed.
One important piece of software & hardware for the computer will be the GSC voice over
internet provider and a set of headphones with mic.  We will be able to have hands free
discussions while working on the website.  It is also good for us to have meetings and get
togethers over the interent.

Well, that is it for now.  If any of you have any concerns or wish to contact me please feel
free to do so.
