2008 October
Newsletter
Greetings 15th Med Members,

It has been a good while since the last Newsletter was sent out.  This summer has been a
busy one for a lot of us.  A few of our members have had some challenges in life.  One of
our members passed away who was at the last 2008 Reunion.  All of the below Pictures
were taken at the 2008 Reunion in Biloxi, MS.

President John Crespi has had more than his share of challenges.   1st, his basement was
flooded not once, but a few times during some real bad storms.   2nd , his wife had her leg
give out on her at work.  She had surgery on her leg a few weeks ago.

Secretary Jim Calibro had to have surgery on his colon.   They removed 15 inches of it.
Luckily the cancer was discovered before it went thru his lymph gland system.

Member Randy Brewer who was the 2008 Reunion Coordinator got pneumonia and was in
the hospital for over a week.  Short time after Randy recovered his roommate passed a
kidney stone.

Member Don Barton had both his wife and daughter get into a terrible accident a few
months ago.

John Rozzel passed away during the summer.  He was a medic with the 15th Med
Battalion.   He attended the 2008 Reunion in Biloxi, MS.

I don’t know if there are other members experiencing stuff in there life.  I know it is not a
welcomed event.   I also had my challenges.  My wife and I are like a mother and father to
our niece who lives with her grandmother.   Well, our niece ran away at the end of August.
We finally we about to communicate to her by text messaging her on her cell phone then the
cell phone of the guy she ran away with.  This is a long story so I will save the details.  My
wife and I ended up going to Maryland to get her after her monies ran out.  She would not
return unless we took this guy she was supposedly in love with came with her.   It brought
the trouble home to Ohio.  It has ended now and I can get back to 15th Med Stuff.

2009 Reunion List, I have created this list on the MSN website.   Members can add their
names to the list.  Just click on this link and scroll down until you see 2000 Reunion List.
Click on that can and you can add you name to list.  Remember you must be a member to
do that.  You can send me (Webmaster) an email and I will add you name to the list.  Our
Treasurer Bob McKinley also tells me who plans to attend the 2009 Reunion.  If that
members does not add themselves to the list then I will do it.  This is the link:

Historical Documents,  I have been adding these documents when I have had time.  I
stopped for awhile when my niece ran away.  Now I have resumed this long process to
adding them the Main Website.   This is the process I do adding these documents.

1. Scan them one by one by month or sometime 2 months at a time.
2. Name each scanned document that is now a .jpg file.  I name them by year, month,
  category and them page.
3. I use the Yahoo website builder that Larry Ash was using when he created this website.  I
create .html file to match the .jpg file created for the document.  Currently there is only one
  document per .html file (page).
4. I insure that every page can index the next pages by previous or next per category.
5. I then copy all .html files and .jpg files to other folders for editing to I can use them the host
Lunapages.  SInce they are create by the Yahoo graphic user interface website builder
they must all be corrected edited to remove some unwanted script across the top of each
  .html file (page).
6. Next I use this Forward Transfer Protocal program to move the created and edit files to
  the Main Website
www.15thmedassociation.com

Forums,  I have created a link to the document in the Forums.   You must be a 15th Med
Association member to access the link to the documents.  There is a board in the Forums
that only 15th Med Association Members can see.  All others can not see or view this
board.  It is called Members and just underneath it in smaller print it says "15th Med
Members Only."   Click on it then click on the topic that says "Historical Document Link."
You then click on the link and you are in the main screen of the documents.  1965 and 1966
are complete except for Dec 66.

If you have any questions you can email me or leave me a Personal Message on the
Forums under my screen name of "GunnerGibbs."

P.S.  I plan to do my Newsletters on the this website so they will be permanently here for
viewing as reference.
